The month began with me and Casey dividing our forces, her going to a Deaf event and me to my dad’s. I was bummed that I was going alone; however, I wanted Casey to see her friends. Time with my niece did help me feel better.
Then she texts me. The truck is almost out of gas, and she’s lost.
I fired up the app that shows me her location, except it was wrong. Twice. Cue the adrenaline and anxiety. Yay.
I finally found the park and was very relieved to see her standing under a streetlight. My number one fear is something happening to her.
When we got home, she was happy to tell me that she’d found the park on the first try. She did better than me for sure; usually, she is directionally challenged. Then she filled me in on how she stopped the rumor mill about us and enjoyed it overall.
