First, some common-sense advice: Live below your means and don't buy stuff you really don't need, especially if you can't afford it.

Spread Out Your Money
Invest in Different Things: Don't put all your money in one place. Invest in different things like stocks, real estate, and savings accounts. This way, if one thing loses value, you have other things to rely on.
