By now, you know what's happening in Israel. There are lessons for us all in this, personally, theologically, philosophically, and in the realm of preparedness.
The Free Press is on top of it with the coverage. I'm not going to belabor that. A quick history lesson, though.
Ancient History
That part of the world has been at war for thousands of years. The strip of land that is Israel has been a trade route between Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
At that time, Israel was there, fighting, being conquered, exiled, and returning—Assyria, Babylon, Medes and Persians, Greece, Rome, etc.
Israel outlasted them all.
It outlasted Hitler.
Modern History
