Do you live like it, or as a practical atheist?
2: Ultimate Reality/Metaphysics
Is the universe eternal, or does it have a beginning?
Is the natural world all that there is?
Are miracles or the supernatural possible?
Does hope have a place in your daily life?
3: Knowledge/Epistemology
What is knowledge?
Can we know anything at all?
Does objective truth exist?
Can we trust our senses?
What are the proper roles of faith, reason, and sense experience in knowledge?
Can we have knowledge of God?
What's your decision-making process like, and can it be trusted if it's merely molecules in motion?
4: Ethics/Axiology
Are there objective moral values and duties that govern human conduct?
What are they?
Or is morality relative to individuals, cultures, or historical periods?
What is the good life?
Who is really well off?
How do I become a good person?
What is beautiful?
Kids understand morality, even at four years old; my son's favorite complaint is, "That's not fair."
Where did he get that?
5: Human Nature/Anthropology
What does it mean to be human?
Where did humans come from?
Do we possess inherent dignity and value?
Do humans possess free will?
Is there a life after death?
Is this seen in how you treat others? Now that I have a daughter, I see every woman as someone's daughter.
We're more empathetic when we've gone through the same or a similar experience.
